Job description

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

034Motorsport has a well known and respected performance service center in the California Bay Area for the regular maintenance and high performance solutions on Audi and Volkswagen automobiles. As part of our plan to expand our service department, we have an opening available for a journeyman level technician to come be part of our dynamic team. This position is located in our Fremont, CA facility, which houses our sales, service, product development, manufacturing, fabrication, machining, accounting, and shipping teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, repair, modification, and service on Audi and Volkswagen automobiles.
  • Perform performance upgrades including fitting of aftermarket parts onto cars, and any alterations required for fitment.
  • Work with service writing staff to document all work and provide complete work needs of vehicle to customer.
  • Light interaction with customer to help understand customer concerns or description of repair.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 year of work experience on VW or Audi Automobiles -- Factory training or work experience greatly prefered.
  • Mechanical aptitude, and a clear understanding of automotive technology, function and design. In depth knowledge of suspension, braking, exhaust, turbo, electrical, and engine/drivetrain system design and engineering principles.
  • Flexible and team work oriented attitude. Must work well with other in a professional and positive way. No big egos or “never wrong” attitudes please.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow and embrace policies and procedures to ensure consistent department function and quality.
  • Passionate determination for what benefits the customer and the company as a whole, team player and customer focused.
  • Perform detailed records of work done, digitally and on paper.
  • Proficiency at email and word processing.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency at welding (MIG and TIG) for repair and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with aftermarket parts for VW/Audi vehicles.
  • Good understanding of wiring, diagrams and basic electronics of DC circuits.
