As a Motorhand, your day-to-day tasks include maintaining and troubleshooting all rig engines, monitoring fluid levels, and ensuring the proper operation of pumps, generators, and compressors. You’ll regularly inspect equipment for wear and perform preventive maintenance to reduce the risk of breakdowns. Motorhands frequently collaborate with Drillers, Derrickhands, and Floorhands, supporting safe rig operations as a key part of the crew. The role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring alertness and adaptability to handle changing conditions during drilling activities.

Job Description
General Statement of Duties:
• Maintains equipment specifically related to engines that power the rig.
Supervision Received:
• Receives directions from the Driller and overall supervision from the Rig Manager.
Supervision exercised:
• Supervises Floorhands and Leasehands
Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):
• Performs assigned tasks safely, efficiently and within the parameters of Company policies;
• Operates and maintains the engines that run the draw-works, turn the rotary table and (in the case of Drilling operations) circulate drilling fluid;
• Takes responsibility for all mechanical equipment, ensuring that all moving parts are lubricated and in working order;
• Maintains the water and steam circulating systems;
• Runs the loader and is responsible for the upkeep of the boiler;
• Assists other members of the crew with day-to-day operations;
• Assists in the training and supervision of Floorhands and Leasehands;
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Relevant functional & technical skills;
• Team-orientation & the ability to build good relationships with bosses and peers;
