Job description

Summary/Primary Role:

This role involves mobilizing drilling equipment for various applications for commercial job sites, performing geothermal drilling methods, and installing test wells for feasibility studies with the Geothermal team. You will be ensuring project safety, organization, and security, willingness to cross-train, operating and maintaining drill rigs and equipment, and overseeing site safety for the drilling crew. It also involves standing and bending for extended periods, mobilizing equipment to job sites, and working comfortably outdoors in all weather conditions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize drilling equipment including various applications within an urban and suburban environment.
  • Perform geotechnical and environmental drilling methods.
  • 100% travel required in the greater Northeast Region of the United States - CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD
  • Install test wells and conduct feasibility studies with the Geothermal team.
  • Ensure project safety, organization, and security of all equipment and personnel. Willingness to cross-train.
  • Operate and care for drill rigs, machines, and other equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for site safety and the safety of the drilling crew.
  • Understand mechanics and requirements for drill sites.
  • Hauling, lifting (60-80 lbs.), moving, loading, and digging materials and equipment.
  • Requires standing and bending for extended periods of time.
  • Mobilization of equipment to job site.
  • Comfortability working outdoors in all elements.
  • All other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active Driller's License strongly preferred.
  • Active CDL strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have an OSHA 30; SST card and Flagger certification strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience operating drilling equipment is a must.
  • Understands and follow utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
  • 5+ years of construction and/or drilling experience (either NY, NJ, CT, MA Master Drilling license a plus); NGWA certification preferred.
  • Experience with geothermal heat pumps.

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work: 

An Employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, while exempt employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Overtime requirements will be determined based on the operational needs of the organization. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). Brightcore also offers a comprehensive set of benefits to compliment the salary. The hourly hiring range for this position is $50.63-$60.00 and there is eligibility for overtime for all hours worked over 40 hours per week.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Travel required 100% in the greater Northeast Region of the United States - CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD
  • Must be willing to be away from home Monday through Friday & scheduled Saturdays.
  • Lodging will be provided for overnight stays.
