What is a Motorcycle Assembly job?

A Motorcycle Assembly job involves putting together various parts of a motorcycle on a production line. Workers follow blueprints, use hand and power tools, and ensure each component is properly installed. This job may include frame assembly, wiring, installing engines, and quality inspections. Attention to detail and mechanical skills are important to ensure safety and functionality.

What is the 12 second rule on a motorcycle?

The 12 second rule in motorcycle assembly refers to a safety guideline where workers should keep at least 12 seconds of distance or time between themselves and moving machinery or parts to prevent accidents. It emphasizes maintaining safe working distances and awareness during assembly processes to avoid injuries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Motorcycle Assembly position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Motorcycle Assembly, you need strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of assembly processes, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand and power tools, torque wrenches, and sometimes specialized training in lean manufacturing or safety certifications are highly valued. Teamwork, reliability, and problem-solving skills help individuals excel in fast-paced production environments. These abilities are crucial to ensuring motorcycles are assembled efficiently, accurately, and safely to meet production and quality standards.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

In motorcycle assembly, high-level supervisory or specialized technician roles can sometimes earn around $10,000 per month, especially with extensive experience, technical skills, and overtime. However, most assembly line positions typically pay less, and reaching such income levels often requires advancing into management or highly skilled technical positions that may require certifications or extensive training.

What does a typical day look like for someone working in Motorcycle Assembly?

A typical day in Motorcycle Assembly involves working on a production line or in dedicated assembly stations, where you'll assemble various motorcycle components according to detailed instructions and quality guidelines. You'll use tools and equipment to fit parts such as engines, frames, electrical systems, and body panels, regularly inspecting your work to ensure it meets strict specifications. Collaboration with other team members and supervisors is common, as you may need to coordinate tasks or troubleshoot assembly issues together. The work environment can be fast-paced, with goals to meet daily or weekly production targets, but it also offers the satisfaction of seeing completed motorcycles take shape through your efforts.

Is $20,000 a lot for a motorcycle?

For a motorcycle assembly worker, earning $20,000 may be below the average annual salary, which typically ranges from $30,000 to $50,000 depending on experience and location. The cost of motorcycles varies widely, with new models often costing between $5,000 and $20,000, so the salary level can influence affordability and purchasing power for workers in this field.

About DeWitts Radiator
DeWitts Radiator engineers and manufactures premium cooling products for aftermarket automotive, powersports, commercial, and defense markets. We are a team-first company that values craftsmanship, attention to detail, and continuous improvement - and we're growing. If you take pride in building something that works and lasts, you'll fit right in.
Why You'll Love Working Here
  • 4-day workweek (Monday-Thursday, 5:30am - 4pm EST)

The Role
As an Assembly Technician, you'll be at the heart of our production process - building the radiator cores that power vehicles around the world. • Assemble radiator components in a fast-paced production environment
  • Operate hand tools and equipment including metal saws, braze furnaces, and stamping machines
  • Interpret work orders and track progress toward daily production goals
  • Load and unload furnace
  • Maintain high quality standards - inspect your work and catch issues before they move downstream

  • Keep your workspace clean, organized, and safe
  • Flex into other production areas as needed to support the team
  • Apply both Metric and US measuring standards accurately
  • Participate in various team meetings and committees

What We're Looking For
The best candidates for this role bring more than a skill set - they bring the right mindset.
  • 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing or skilled trades experience
  • Postsecondary degree, apprenticeship, or trade certificate preferred (not required)
  • Sharp attention to detail - you notice what others miss with the confidence to communicate it

  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and fine-motor hand tasks (pinching, grasping, manipulation)
  • Lifting up to 30 lbs. frequently; occasionally carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs.; rarely pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Background check and drug screening required prior to starting date
  • Demonstrated skills reinforcing your work experience, communication style, and resume
  • Confirmation of ability to communicate electronically
