Purpose of the Role:

The Motorcoach Transportation Specialist drives motor coach for educational and vacation tours, making it a unique opportunity to travel while supporting Farmers Union's mission. During summer months much of the work is transporting youth to our camps at James River and Heart Butte.
 
For qualified and interested candidates, this position may also provide over-the-road truck driving for Farmers Union Logistics, Ltd., transporting farm-based food products and food ingredients from agricultural producers and suppliers to customers on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a 56-passenger motor coach, including transporting vacation tours, regional educational trips and delivering children to summer camps.
  • Planning routes, including stops, and adhering to schedules.
  • Provide clear and proactive communication, ensuring all business requirements are understood and being met.
  • Maintain all DOT requirements and complete all necessary regulatory driver reports.
  • Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues; if qualified, perform preventative maintenance.
  • Take accountability in ensuring each job is being completed to the requirements communicated and drive results through others.
  • If providing over-the-road support, process purchase orders, order products for FULL.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
    • P endorsement is required for Motorcoach driving.
    • L, Z, N restrictions are not acceptable in this role.
    • Other requirements may be identified prior to hire.
  • License must meet all operational and insurance eligibility requirements; certain restrictions may affect eligibility for this position.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age with preference given to those with at least 2 years of CDL experience.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently during loading and unloading.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including computer reservation systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively.
  • Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandates that truck drivers must hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
