Bus Driver

Summary
Provides transportation services to the campus community
Essential Job Functions
  • Operates a large capacity bus for the transportation of students and other passengers according to designated routes, schedules, and assignments
  • Drives to university bus stops to carry passengers to their destinations in a timely manner.
  • Performs and records pre-trip bus inspections prior to operation and tracks passenger counts
  • Reports malfunctions, as required by the department of transportation
  • Performs basic interior and exterior bus cleaning and maintains appropriate fuel levels
  • Assists with general maintenance duties during term breaks, as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience working in commercial driving or other related experience
  • Current/valid class A or B commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement
  • Current/valid medical certification
  • Ability to communicate, read and write proficiently in English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Interview process requires satisfactory completion of DOT road test, review of previous employment records, and pre-employment drug test
