Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide technical support and customer interaction for sales department, Yaskawa Motoman Solution Providers, and GST customers in regard to standard and modified products, advanced system content, and aftermarket product offerings.
  • Compile material and perform sales and technical product training for sales managers, Yaskawa Motoman Solution Providers, and GST customers.
  • Generate special technical and commercial data for customers, Yaskawa Motoman Solution Providers, and OEMs.
  • Support selling activity as needed.
  • Review and generate sales quotations as required.
  • Work with sales staff in Japan (Yaskawa Electric Corp.) to submit RFQ and receive quotes from the respective sales team.
  • Perform market surveys for customer needs analysis of Yaskawa Motoman Solution Providers and GST customers.
  • Coordinate GST customer, Yaskawa Motoman Solution Provider visits, presentations and demonstrations within established corporate guidelines so as to provide positive company image.
  • Assist/coordinate in providing GST customers and Yaskawa Motoman Solution Provider tours and presentations.
  • Work closely with sales operations department to ensure smooth and timely receipt of purchase order related documents and information.
  • Provide trade show sales support.
  • Perform special sales promotion activities as assigned by Management.
  • Prepare monthly reports as required by sales management.
  • Travel required for regular visits to Global Sales Team customers.  Must have valid driver's license and full coverage automobile insurance.
  • Must have ability to communicate well with Japanese personnel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales, sales support, automation, robotics, industrial equipment, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Above average written and verbal communication skills. Able to speak to groups of individuals and participate in meetings. Bilingual in English and Japanese is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent computer skills and abilities.  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Database Management.   Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and protect competitive data. Capital equipment experience and process knowledge a plus.
