What will the work look like for me?

Daktronics is seeking a highly skilled Motion Graphics Artist to create dynamic 2D and 3D content for large-scale LED displays.  Producing work seen in major league stadiums, collegiate athletics, and global brands.  In this role, you'll bring visual storytelling to life, from concept through final delivery.  You'll collaborate closely with the Creative Director, Art Directors, and cross-functional teams to develop high-impact content under tight timelines.  This is a hands-on role requiring both strong creative vision and deep technical expertise, with opportunities to lead smaller teams and projects.

What You'll Do

  • Design and produce high-quality 2D and 3D motion graphics for LED display systems.
  • Create motion graphics optimized for a wide variety of screen sizes, shapes, and unique LED configurations, ensuring each piece meets client specifications and real-world display requirements.
  • Leverage knowledge of emerging AI-powered creative tools and platforms to enhance workflows, generate concepts, and unlock new creative opportunities while maintaining high standards of craft and originality.
  • Translate creative direction into compelling visual storytelling.
  • Stay current on motion design trends, tools, and emerging technologies-applying new techniques and workflows to continuously elevate creative output.
  • Solve complex design challenges independently and as part of a team.
  • Lead design efforts on select projects and support/mentor other artists as needed.
  • Partner with editors, producers, and designers to resolve technical and creative challenges.
  • Maintain organized project files and follow best practices for workflows and version control.

Position has opportunity to work from a US Based home office. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the United States.  

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $68,000 to $78,000 annually.The high end of this range is reserved for candidates located in high cost of living areas. Candidates in other locations may fall within the lower to midpoint range. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for Motion Graphics Artist, we require the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in design, animation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of motion graphics experience in sports, broadcast, agency, or similar environments.
  • Strong portfolio/demo reel showcasing a wide range of creative styles.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Cinema 4D (modeling, lighting, animation, dynamics, Redshift, etc.).
    • Adobe After Effects (2D/3D design and animation).
    • Familiarity with Unreal Engine is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of sports.
  • Experience creating content for live events, sports, or large-format displays.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Experience with broadcast real-time graphics.
  • Basic HTML knowledge.
  • Ability to work with a fast-paced, highly collaborative creative team.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
