Job description

StudioBinder is looking for a Motion Graphics Animator to join our Content & Editorial team.

StudioBinder builds production management software used by filmmakers, agencies, brands, and creative teams to plan and collaborate on productions. Alongside the platform, we run one of the largest educational resources in the production industry. Our blog reaches 1M+ readers each month, and our YouTube channel has 2M+ subscribers.

If you enjoy bringing ideas to life through animation, visual storytelling, and design, weโ€™d love to hear from you. Visit our Careers page to learn more about our culture, benefits, and what a typical day looks like.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As part of the video and editorial team, youโ€™ll design and animate motion graphics that help explain filmmaking concepts and enhance StudioBinderโ€™s educational videos.

Your work will include designing animated sequences, title graphics, and visual elements that support storytelling and clarify ideas for viewers. Many of our videos break down filmmaking techniques, analyze scenes, or explain production workflows, and motion graphics play a key role in making those concepts visually engaging.

Youโ€™ll collaborate with video editors, writers, and producers to design animations that match the tone and style of each piece. Youโ€™ll also help develop reusable visual systems and templates that keep the channelโ€™s visual identity consistent.

A Typical Day

A typical day might begin by reviewing a video edit and identifying opportunities where motion graphics could better illustrate an ideaโ€”whether thatโ€™s an animated diagram, a title sequence, or a visual breakdown of a scene.

From there, you might spend time designing and animating graphics in After Effects, refining typography and layout, or experimenting with ways to visualize filmmaking concepts in a clear and engaging way.

Later in the day, you may collaborate with editors or producers to review animations, make adjustments, or iterate on ideas that improve the clarity of a video.

Some days are spent deep in animation work, others refining visual systems or exploring new motion styles. The goal is always the same: create motion graphics that make complex ideas easierโ€”and more enjoyableโ€”to understand.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have 3โ€“5+ years of experience in motion graphics or animation
  • Are highly proficient in Adobe After Effects
  • Enjoy explaining ideas visually through animation
  • Are comfortable collaborating with editors, writers, and producers
  • Take ownership of your work and care about craft and detail
  • Have an interest in filmmaking, storytelling, or visual media

Experience with tools like Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Cinema 4D is helpful but not required.

How to Apply

If you're interested in the position, we'd love to hear from you.

Email us at hello@studiobinder.com โ€”please include your resume, a short cover letter, and a link to your motion graphics portfolio or reel.

In your cover letter, include one StudioBinder video you enjoyed and why it stood out to you.
