Job description

Primary Purpose:
The Motel Maintenance position is responsible for general maintenance of the entire property, including addressing guest room issues promptly and assisting with assigned projects. This role requires working with urgency to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
Work Performed:
  • Perform plumbing repairs.
  • Install and repair door hardware and locks.
  • Painting.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Repair broken or damaged fixtures.
  • Install tile and other floor coverings.
  • Perform routine general maintenance.
  • Maintain excellent employee/guest relations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Troubleshoot kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Follow established company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work any assigned shift/work schedule.
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of experience with HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Technical expertise in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, pool maintenance, and refrigeration.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers, mechanical systems, and general maintenance practices.
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and on-call shifts.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk frequently for extended periods.
  • Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues (e.g., telephone, radio).
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing an average of 25-50 lbs.
  • Ability to extend arms overhead to perform various technical tasks, and work in confined spaces under varying temperature extremes.
