Job description

Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group is a physician-led medical group actively seeking a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to join our team at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Floridaโ€”recognized as a premier destination for neurosurgical care in Pinellas County. You will work alongside five board-certified neurosurgeons, supported by a collaborative team of experienced physician assistants across the clinic, hospital, and operating room settings. This position offers a balanced mix of inpatient and operative responsibilities, with a strong focus on procedural support and patient management.

Position Highlights
  • Provide occasional clinic support as needed
  • 1:7 weekend daytime rotation
  • Monday to Friday with no nights or overnight call
  • Provide inpatient neurosurgical care, including consults and patient management
  • Serve as first assist in the operating room
  • Support neurosurgeons with perioperative care and procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Qualifications
  • Board Certified PA (NCCPA) or APRN
  • Active Florida license (or ability to obtain)
  • Neurosurgery experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates with neurosurgical clinical rotations considered
  • Acute care, surgical, or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of brain and spine pathologies
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, high-acuity environment
