We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Trader to join our trading team. You will be responsible for risk management and trading across a variety of mortgage products on the current derivatives desk.  The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of disciplined trading, niche expertise in Mortgage markets, and exceptional risk assessment and management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize mortgage expertise to manage risk and trade profitably
  • Develop and maintain quantitative tools and analytics for strategy optimization.
  • Contribute to the desk's automation and e-trading initiatives, including algo pricing logic and auto-hedging workflows
  • Collaborate with fellow traders to share insights and refine trading strategies.
  • Mentor junior traders on the desk

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience trading mortgages for a proprietary book
  • Demonstrated track record of profitable mortgage trading
  • Deep understanding of mortgage pricing and risk metrics
  • Spec Pool Trading experience is required
  • Proficiency with trading and risk systems
  • Strong quantitative aptitude; ability to reason quickly under pressure with sound judgment on risk
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with sales and clients
  • Strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset.
  • This position requires physical presence and is on-site (all 5 days) at our office in Chicago, IL.
