Job description

Pediatric Intensivist - Pediatric Critical Care Unit

The Division of Critical Care Medicine at Nemours Children’s Hospital Delaware seeks a Board-eligible/Board-certified Pediatric Intensivist to join our team in Wilmington. This physician will participate in direct patient care in our 24‑32 bed pediatric ICU, managing patients with various medical, surgical, and trauma-related critical illnesses. Responsibilities include daytime clinical service and in‑house nighttime call, overall direction of patient management, procedures, and education of residents, fellows, and other trainees. Physicians are expected to work closely with nursing and ancillary departments to maintain a teamwork approach to family‑centered care.

Academic interests in research, informatics, quality improvement/patient safety, education, or administration/operations that supplement clinical expertise are required to optimize professional contributions locally and to help expand Nemours impact on pediatric critical illness regionally and nationally.

Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or equivalent clinical doctoral degree from an accredited medical school

  • Board Eligibility/Certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Eligibility to obtain a valid DEA and unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Delaware
  • A demonstrable area of academic pursuit in research, informatics, quality/patient safety, medical education, health services, and/or administration/clinical operations
