Description
First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for a Mortgage Loan Processor at the Main Street Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas.
The primary responsibility of this position is assisting the Mortgage Loan Officer with the complete processing of the loan, and coordinating the loan closing with the loan officers, borrowers, title companies/attorneys and insurance providers. This fast-paced environment will require knowledge of the home loan process, including knowledge of Encompass loan origination software and regulatory disclosure process. First Financial Bank is recognized as a banking and lending leader.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school plus two years of additional education or training from college or technical school; two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Mortgage Loan experience is required. Experience with FHA, VA, USDA and/or Conventional loan products is preferred. Experience with Encompass LOS is required. Must have good understanding of financial institution products/services, loan guidelines, and underwriting procedures.
COMPLEXITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, monthly payments, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluate and assist in inputting information from the application into the mortgage loan software. Obtain quotes to prepare early disclosures in an efficient and timely manner according to compliance regulations. Order credit reports, appraisal requests, title commitments, termite clearance letters and surveys as the process of the loan evolves. Coordinate the collection of required/missing documents with loan officers, borrowers & any third parties. Process the loan file in accordance with FFB/Investor/Agency guidelines & coordinate the collection of required documents for secondary market and in-house mortgage loans regarding Loan Operations & other FFB departments. Submit loans through appropriate AUS. Prepare the loan package for underwriting, and to clear any conditions made as part of loan approval process. Act as point of contact between loan officers and underwriters. Assist loan closer as needed. Assist in final review of loan file before closing. Process departmental telephone calls, emails, and answer general inquiries. Assist in post close functions per Investor/Agency requirements as well as any in-house final documentation to clear exceptions in a timely manner. Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills, and be able to work under strict deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter. Must have ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows software.
