Responsibilities may include configuring Moodle settings, developing custom plugins, troubleshooting issues, and training users. Many Moodle professionals work in schools, universities, corporate training environments, or as freelancers.

What are the typical responsibilities of a Moodle administrator?

On a daily basis, a Moodle Administrator is responsible for managing user accounts, ensuring the platform runs smoothly, troubleshooting technical issues, and setting up or updating courses for educators. They frequently collaborate with faculty, IT staff, and support teams to implement new features, maintain data integrity, and ensure a secure online learning environment. Additionally, Moodle Administrators often provide training and guidance to instructors and staff on best practices for online course delivery. This role offers a dynamic mix of technical support, system management, and educational collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed for a Moodle position?

To excel as a Moodle Administrator, you need expertise in learning management systems (LMS), particularly Moodle, combined with experience in IT, instructional design, or educational technology. Familiarity with database management, server administration, Moodle plugins, and relevant certifications such as Moodle Certified Administrator are highly valued.
