What are some common challenges faced by expatriates working in Montenegro?

Expatriates working in Montenegro often encounter challenges related to language barriers, as Montenegrin is the official language and English proficiency can vary by industry and region. Adapting to the local business culture, which may be more relationship-driven and less formal than some Western countries, can also require adjustment. Navigating local regulations and unfamiliar administrative processes, such as obtaining work permits or registering residency, may pose additional hurdles. However, most expatriates find that integrating into the community and building local networks helps ease these transitions over time.
