Job description

Job Title: Tacker

Location: Duncan, SC 

Schedule: 1st Shift

Employment Type: Full Time

 Job Summary

We are seeking Tackers to support pipe fabrication by preparing and tacking components for final welding. This role is critical in ensuring proper fit-up, alignment, and readiness for welders. Tackers must demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform tack welding on pipe and fittings
  • Assist pipe fitters with layout and preparation
  • Ensure proper alignment and fit-up prior to welding
  • Complete root and fill to flush on required tests and production work
  • Read basic drawings and follow instructions for assembly
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
Additional Duties
  • Assist other departments as needed to support production flow
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency efforts
  • Perform basic equipment and tool inspections
  • Support production deadlines and workflow demands
Required Qualifications
  • Prior pipe shop or field tacking experience
  • Must pass a 2" monster coupon test in 6G position
  • Ability to perform root and fill to flush
  • Basic understanding of pipe fit-up and fabrication
  • Ability to work in a shop environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with pipe fitters and welders
  • Familiarity with fabrication shop operations
  • Ability to read basic drawings
