We're looking for an Assistant Business Manager to join our Riverton Pet Care Center opening in September 2026! This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career by combining hands-on patient care with operational leadership.
As an Assistant Business Manager, you'll play a critical role in the success of the Pet Care Center by supporting daily operations, coaching and developing teammates, driving clinic performance, and serving as the on-site leader when the Business Manager is away. At the same time, you'll continue working alongside the medical team, delivering excellent patient care and leading by example on the clinic floor.

What You'll Do as an Assistant Business Manager
Clinical Leadership
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including diagnostics, treatment support, surgical preparation, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist with radiology, dentistry, laboratory diagnostics, and medical documentation
  • Educate pet parents on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
  • Promote Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques
  • Lead by example through strong technical skills and medical excellence
  • Support training and development of Veterinary Assistants and Veterinary Technicians
  • Champion Petfolk initiatives and help drive key clinic performance metrics

Operations & Business Leadership
  • Support daily Pet Care Center operations and serve as the acting clinic leader when the Business Manager is unavailable
  • Facilitate team huddles and help manage daily appointment flow
  • Monitor clinic performance metrics and support operational improvements
  • Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling adjustments, and workflow management
  • Address client concerns with empathy, professionalism, and accountability
  • Support inventory management, facility readiness, and regulatory compliance
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for pets, clients, and teammates

Team Development & Culture
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and real-time support to teammates
  • Reinforce Petfolk standards, SOPs, and service expectations
  • Assist with working interviews, onboarding, and team training
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Help create an exceptional experience for every pet parent who walks through our doors

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
  • Previous clinical leadership experience required
  • Strong technical skills and confidence in patient care, diagnostics, and anesthesia support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable balancing clinical responsibilities with operational leadership
