Unlike stationary security officers, rovers move between different locations to ensure the safety and security of property, personnel, and visitors. Their duties may include checking for unauthorized access, responding to incidents, and reporting security concerns. Rovers often fill in gaps between static posts and provide a flexible security presence across an organization’s facilities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to different environments.

Effective communication and strong observational skills are essential to stay updated on each site's requirements and to build rapport with various teams. Being proactive about learning site layouts and maintaining flexibility in your routine will help you respond efficiently to incidents and ensure consistent security coverage throughout the week.
