Multiple Shifts:
1st Shift, Friday - Monday, 06:00 AM - 02:15 PM
2nd Shift, Friday - Monday & Monday - Friday, 02:00 PM - 10:15 PM
3rd Shift, Friday - Monday, 10:00 PM - 06:15 AM
At GXO Logistics, moving product is vital to our long-term success and we need people with the skill and dedication to take care of business. As the Yard Driver, you will be responsible for moving freight around the yard, as well as loading and unloading trailers by hand or with the use of equipment. On our team, you'll have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career you can be proud of.
What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Drive a yard jockey from dock to dock
  • Pick up and deliver trailers to the specified docking area
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
  • Complete required paperwork and communicate clearly (verbally and in writing) with supervisors and associates
  • Perform accurate Yard checks.

What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 2 years
  • Ability to read and write and accurately complete paperwork
  • Understanding of bills of loading, manifests and freight bills

It'd be great if you also have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of relevant experience
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This job requires the ability to:
  • Walk, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
  • Reach (including above your head)
  • Work for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery
  • Connect and disconnect a yard jockey
  • Drive a truck and/or tractor-trailer combination with power steering
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 100 lbs. occasionally; may also move up to 500 lbs. on wheeled carts
