Position Overview
Kiewit's water market is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support marketing managers with pursuit-driven marketing, content development, digital content and visual communications. This role is a hybrid of content producer, journalist and graphic designer, with an emphasis on helping turn technical information into clear, client-focused marketing materials.The Marketing Specialist will work closely with marketing managers who lead sales collateral, messaging strategy and how Kiewit's water capabilities are communicated across print, digital and pursuit materials. This role will also interact with business development teams, subject matter experts and project teams to help gather information, shape content and support marketing needs tied to strategic pursuits, client engagement and market visibility.
This is a support role, not a role expected to own every marketing function independently. The right person should be curious, creative, organized and comfortable helping marketing managers move work forward in a fast-moving, matrixed environment.
District Overview
Kiewit's marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to water/wastewater and industrial. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, marketers and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company.

This position will be based out of our Lone Tree, CO OR Lenexa, KS office hubs. Opportunities for flexible work are available.
Responsibilities
  • Support marketing managers with materials tied to active pursuits, client accounts and business development priorities. This may include pursuit leave behinds, conference materials, client-facing collateral, project highlights and other marketing pieces that help position Kiewit's water market.
  • Help capture technical information from subject matter experts and project teams, then translate it into clear content for articles, talking points, video scripts, social posts and pursuit-related materials. This person should be comfortable asking questions, identifying the main message and helping make technical topics easier for clients and industry audiences to understand.
  • Support marketing managers and subject matter experts with content for conference abstracts, technical session submissions and speaker opportunities. This may include helping shape the topic, clarify the client or industry relevance, edit technical content and make sure the abstract connects back to Kiewit's water market strategy.
  • Support practical content production needs such as talking-head videos, short expert interviews, project updates and field-focused content. This may include helping develop questions, organize talking points, coordinate photos or videos and shape raw information into polished content.
  • Assist with the design and layout of marketing materials, including sales collateral, conference pieces, pursuit graphics, PowerPoint materials, signage, leave-behinds and digital content. The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for layout, visual hierarchy and making information easy to follow.
  • Help support digital marketing needs such as eblasts, landing pages, microsites or content updates. This role may also help organize requests, track deadlines and manage content workflows using Monday.com, Asana or similar platforms.

Qualifications
  • Experience in marketing, communications, journalism, content production, graphic design or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience supporting pursuit-driven, account-based or business development marketing
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills
  • Ability to interview subject matter experts and translate technical information into clear content
  • Experience supporting abstracts, technical submissions, thought leadership content or conference-related writing
  • Ability to help subject matter experts turn technical ideas into clear, compelling abstract language
  • Graphic design experience with an eye for layout, visual hierarchy and brand consistency
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro or similar tools
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Experience supporting or developing eblasts, landing pages, microsites or other digital marketing content
  • Familiarity with Monday.com, Asana or similar project management and content workflow platforms
  • Comfort organizing content, tracking deadlines and supporting multiple marketing requests at different stages of development
  • Comfort supporting short-form video content, talking points and digital storytelling
  • Ability to support multiple projects, regions and stakeholders
  • Portfolio or proof of work needed for consideration
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year

This person does not need to be equally strong in every part of the job description, but should bring strong judgment, curiosity, flexibility and the ability to move between writing, design, digital support and pursuit-driven content as priorities shift.
