Traditional ad placements and formats are no longer enough. Moloco is building the infrastructure to power next-generation monetization across these new environments bridging the open web, AI chat interfaces, and emerging content ecosystems.

We're seeking a Director of Next Gen Publisher Monetization to lead this transformation. You'll define how publishers capture value in the age of generative and conversational AI - designing monetization systems, formats, and signals that align with these new experiences.

The ideal candidate is a deep ad tech leader who has built or scaled publisher monetization platforms and is ready to pioneer the next frontier:  monetizing AI-driven interactions in ways that are transparent, privacy-safe, and performance-optimized.

What You'll Do
  • Define the Future of Publisher Monetization: Build Moloco's vision and roadmap for monetization on AI chat and next-generation web surfaces.
  • Reimagine the Ad Experience: Design new ad and sponsorship formats tailored for conversational, contextual, and intent-rich environments.
  • Lead Publisher Strategy: Partner with leading web publishers to transition from traditional display monetization to AI-native monetization models.
  • Develop AI-Powered Yield Systems: Work with data science and engineering to build models that understand context, intent, and engagement optimizing monetization dynamically across AI-driven interactions.
  • Advance Privacy and Trust: Define frameworks for privacy-safe signal use and explainable monetization in AI contexts.
  • Shape the Industry Narrative: Represent Moloco in defining what open, independent monetization means in the era of AI-driven content and chat.
  • Build and Lead Teams: Hire, mentor, and lead a team driving innovation at the intersection of ad tech, AI, and publisher economics.
What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in ad tech or publisher monetization product leadership.
  • Proven experience building or leading publisher monetization platforms (SSPs, ad exchanges, or ad servers).
  • Deep understanding of ad serving, auction dynamics, and programmatic ecosystems.
  • Passion for emerging AI surfaces: chat, generative experiences, and intelligent content interfaces.
  • Strong communication and strategic leadership skills across technical, commercial, and industry stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience designing contextual and privacy-first monetization systems.
  • ex-founder and experience building product from zero to 1
  • Understanding of AI/LLM technologies, content generation, or recommendation systems.
  • Familiarity with open web monetization challenges and the role of independent ad tech in an era of walled gardens and AI platforms.
