Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Houston, TX & Atlanta, GA (Remote)

Hire Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

  1. Create and develop detailed design & drawings for gas turbine components, including blades, casings, and combustors, using CAD software.
  2. Good Knowledge in power plant accessories, such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and piping systems
  3. Perform thermal and mechanical analysis, including stress, vibration, and fluid dynamics simulations to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
  4. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure designs are feasible and align with project timelines.
  5. Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design change requests, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  6. Identify and implement design improvements and optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of gas turbine systems.
  7. Diagnose and resolve design-related issues in existing products, collaborating with maintenance and operations teams.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies related to gas turbines to inform future design initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; a masterโ€™s degree or specialized certification is a plus.
  • 5+years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the aerospace or power generation sectors.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, ANSYS) and experience with design simulation tools.
