onsemi is seeking a Process Engineer - Defect in our Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill, NY. In this position, develop and deploy inline inspection strategies to reduce MTTD (mean time to detect) and drive defect improvement to meet industry competitive yield standards.  Defect engineers provide analysis and subject matter expertise to identify signals, excursions and continuous improvement opportunities.   The position's primary focus is to develop and improve the defect yield management system.  This includes maintaining and improving data mining capabilities and analysis techniques. They work with technical experts in integration and process engineering to solve complex technical problems contributing to yield loss, mapping business processes to innovate and create new applications for future needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Strong, effective communication and Leadership/Teamwork skills are required.
  • Language Fluency - Fluent in English Language - written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience with SQL, Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, XML, and Git
  • Semiconductor processing experience or coursework
  • Familiar with 5S, 8D, 6-sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA

Salary:onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is$65,800 to $102,100 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.   • Develop and deploy defect monitoring and improvement strategies and applications
  • Independently create, test, and implement applications in Java, Javascript
  • Demonstrate abilities to interpret code to sustain and improve its usage
  • Understand statistical concepts, such as multivariate and univariate analysis
  • Document business processes and application specifications to sustain business impact
  • Generate defect paretos, identify point of cause for top defects and works with module teams to drive continuous improvement to meet industry competitive D0 targets.
  • Create and execute DOE (design of experiments), analyze data and communicate results with recommendations to the broader technical teams.
  • Demonstrate project management skills, such as defining milestones and estimating timelines to complete activities.
