ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Senior Connectivity Engineer, you shape how information moves across every LVT product, transforming complex network access into a reliable, scalable foundation for AI-driven intelligence. Working with a systems mindset under the Manager of Edge Connectivity, you will bridge the gap between product goals and practical architectures. You will lead technical initiatives from concept through deployment while mentoring fellow engineers. This is a vital leadership role that ensures our physical units and platform communicate seamlessly at scale.

This role is based in-office out of our Headquarters in American Fork, Utah, with an expected travel requirement of up to 15%.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Connectivity Development: Drive the development, integration, validation, and lifecycle management of connectivity solutions across current and future LVT products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Hardware, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to bring new connectivity-enabled platforms from concept through production deployment.
  • Technical Investigations: Lead technical investigations, proof-of-concepts, vendor evaluations, and technology assessments supporting the company's connectivity roadmap.
  • Architecture & Standards: Develop and maintain connectivity reference architectures, design standards, test methodologies, deployment procedures, and operational documentation.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor engineers and analysts through technical guidance, design reviews, knowledge sharing, and development of engineering standards and best practices.
  • Product Integration: Evaluate, integrate, and validate cellular modem modules, and support carrier certification, antenna evaluation, and connectivity performance testing.
  • Lifecycle Management: Own connectivity-related lifecycle activities for existing and future products, including firmware maintenance, carrier-driven updates, and technology refreshes.
  • Technical Representation: Serve as a technical representative for Connectivity in strategic discussions with leadership, product teams, customers, and technology partners.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Proven Experience: 5-7+ years in systems, networking, embedded connectivity, telecommunications, or related engineering experience for distributed/embedded fleets.
  • Project Ownership: Documented success in owning complex technical projects from initial concept through deployment and long-term support.
  • Advanced Networking Skills: Deep L2/L3 networking skills, including VLAN design, QoS, NAT, VRFs, policy-based routing, and carrier network DHCP/DNS nuances.
  • Fleet Operations Expertise: Hands-on experience with hardware at scale, including manufacturer software platforms, API-driven automation, and fleet operations.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and representing engineering to executives, customers, and external partners.
  • Embedded Systems Focus: Experience evaluating, integrating, testing, or supporting embedded modem modules and connected-device platforms throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Automation Capabilities: Strong proficiency with automation in Python or shell scripting for configuration generation, validation, and telemetry collection.
  • Advanced Cellular Knowledge: Deep understanding of eUICC/eSIM, multi-IMSI strategies, dual-WAN/dual-SIM failover, and cost/performance modeling.
  • Disciplined Execution: Excellent documentation and communication skills with a disciplined approach to change and incident management.
