Job description

Sr. AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer

Our client is looking for a Senior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity with an outstanding organization.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the implementation of Cloud tools and Technologies.
  • Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modelling, and advanced analytics. Candidate does not have to be an expert in data and analytics but must be willing to learn these areas.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms especially EKS
  • Experience with modern DevOps tooling (e.g. Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected frameworks
  • Understanding of the value of automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
  • Experience in DevSecOps practices
  • Experience of big data pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, DBT, Jenkins)

Must Have:

  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks โ€“ Is a must.
  • DevOps Experience โ€“ Terraform/Jenkins is a must
  • Proficient with container systems like Docker and container orchestration like EC2 Container Service, Kubernetes, worked with Terraform.
  • Experience with Docker orchestration and Docker containerization using Kubernetes.
