Job description

Senior Software Modeling and Simulation Architect
Company:
The Boeing Company
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Modeling and Simulation Architect to support the E-7 Software team in Oklahoma City, OK.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Partners with stakeholders to advise on the review and identification of simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated
  • Oversees the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities
  • Reviews data collection and processing for use in simulations
  • Oversees validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models
  • Reviews the documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models
  • Partners with cross functional engineering teams to advise on integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems
  • Oversees implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment
  • Oversees modernizing, migrating, sustaining, and updating simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems
  • Oversees simulation software project management functions
  • Advises management and influences internal practices on a wide range of topics related to the software engineering simulation environments

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance Post-Start is required
  • 10+ years' experience as a Product Owner or other leadership role
  • Experience designing and developing software using Python, C/C++, C# and/or Java

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Experience within the real-time simulation problem domain such as simulation system architectures, requirements, system interfaces and integration and test of real-time simulators is a plus
  • Experience with Software DevSecOps practices
  • Experience with defense systems and platforms
  • Experience with Radio Simulation, Radar Simulation, Distributed Networks, or Airborne Data Links
