GENERAL DESCRIPTION

A Modeling and Simulation Platform Administrator supports both internal and external customers operating PLEXSYS modeling and simulation software products and systems. This position is responsible for proper sourcing, creation, development, implementation, configuration, security, and maintenance of multiple databases.Collects and provides inputs on functionality, design and use of product databases to the customer capabilities roadmap. Creating and maintaining exercise scenarios and guiding use of PLEXSYS products during virtual and constructive exercises. Manages the timely resolution of customer inquiries and issues associated with databases. Assists with delivering best in class customer support, training and installation of PLEXSYS products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, maintain, and update database training products for internal and external customers
  • Ensures proper sourcing, creation, development, implementation, configuration, security, and maintenance of multiple databases
  • Work closely with simulation developers, and operational experts to define and validate parameters that support mission objectives
  • Provide guidance to product software development teams on database functionality, development, design, and requirements of the database and its components
  • Develop and maintain procedures for database management and change control
  • Act as global change arbiter, ensuring all changes to customer databases are promptly implemented, documented, and tested
  • Ensure security of databases and proper file management, preventing release of unauthorized data
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency on the use of all PLEXSYS products
  • Provide training on the operational use of PLEXSYS products and databases
  • Assist Project Managers, Testers and Engineers with operational subject matter expertise
  • Create complex operational scenarios for advanced database testing and be able to articulate and document discrepancies
  • Support testing and validation efforts by configuring and adjusting parameters to meet real-world fidelity requirements
  • Write checklists, training materials, reports, and other documentation relevant to the use of databases in PLEXSYS products
  • Operate, interface and troubleshoot PLEXSYS products in support of live, virtual and constructive exercises and training events
  • Interpret complex information and communicate it clearly and concisely, in general terms
  • Assist customers seeking technical assistance online, over the phone or email

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field or six years military Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) experience with an understanding of Data link operations, airspace control and battle management of friendly air, ground, and maritime forces
  • Hands on experience with modeling and simulation systems and a basic understanding of how aircraft, weapons and surveillance systems are used in modeling and simulation
  • Experience with version control and configuration management tools
  • Understanding of how to integrate modeling and simulation applications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system engineers, end users and program managers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, Access and Excel, Notepad ++
  • Ability to travel of up to 20% of the time


DESIRABLE

  • Familiar with computer components and ability to diagnose basic hardware issues
  • Understanding of Networking and the ability to explain what an IP address and ports are
  • Experience with simulation frameworks and tools (e.g., DIS, HLA, or similar constructive simulation systems)
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation for data processing (Python, SQL, or other relevant tools)
