The College of Engineering and Science (COES) at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Mechanical Engineering, with an anticipated start date of September 2026. The Lecturer position at Louisiana Tech includes a promotion pathway based on performance and contributions, allowing advancement from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer and Distinguished Lecturer.

The College's vision is for Louisiana Tech to become a destination university for Engineering and Science education through a dynamic and supportive educational experience, while serving as a major engine of innovation and intellectual advancement that uplifts the region. COES is home to the Integrated STEM Education Research Center (ISERC) and is an active member of the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN). Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with significant overlap.

Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate education, including classroom teaching, laboratory instruction, and student mentoring.

Ability to deliver existing Mechanical Engineering courses across the curriculum, with particular interest in candidates who can contribute to:

o Thermal-fluids, heat transfer, and energy systems

o Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), systems modeling, and digital engineering concepts

Substantial teaching experience in engineering or engineering technology is preferred.

Ability to develop new curricular content in response to emerging program and industry needs.
