We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to become something greater-and the same is true for our people. As we grow, we're redefining how great talent connects with meaningful work, enabling our ambitious strategy while building a culture of high performance, creativity, and partnership. If you're curious about how actuarial models drive financial reporting, business planning, and strategic decision-making, then this role offers the opportunity to help modernize actuarial capabilities while shaping the future modeling infrastructure of a growing life and annuity organization.
About the Role:
We're looking for an Actuarial Manager, Model Development, to join our Actuarial Modeling team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting all phases of the actuarial model development lifecycle, helping deliver high-quality models that support critical financial reporting, planning, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong actuary who enjoys solving complex problems, enhancing modeling capabilities, and modernizing actuarial infrastructure. You will play a key role in advancing Prosperity Life's actuarial architecture while helping improve the efficiency, scalability, and governance of end-to-end modeling processes.
What You'll Do:

  • Support models used for Embedded Value, Business Planning, and U.S. GAAP reporting under LDTI
  • Ensure models are accurate, reliable, and aligned with business and reporting objectives

Modeling Infrastructure & Process Improvement
  • Streamline and automate legacy model input and output processes to improve efficiency and controls
  • Develop and implement modeling standards, governance practices, and documentation
  • Enhance the overall user experience and effectiveness of actuarial modeling tools

Strategic Initiatives & Modernization
  • Execute initiatives supporting Prosperity Life's future-state modeling platform strategy
  • Lead and support model conversion efforts as part of ongoing actuarial modernization initiatives
  • Contribute to projects focused on improving actuarial architecture, scalability, and operational effectiveness

Analytics & Special Projects
  • Support strategic initiatives including in-force management analysis, actuarial due diligence, regulatory field testing, and model validation
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide modeling insights that inform business and actuarial decision-making
  • Translate technical analyses into actionable recommendations for broader audiences

What You Bring:
Required
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience in modeling, valuation, or a related actuarial discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills
  • Ability to balance technical execution with strategic thinking
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects and deliver results

Preferred
  • Experience with MG-ALFA or similar asset-liability cash flow modeling platforms
  • Familiarity with asset modeling concepts
  • Experience with U.S. Statutory accounting, including PBR
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP accounting, including LDTI
  • Knowledge of life and annuity products
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, R, and/or Python

Core Competencies:
  • Actuarial Modeling & Valuation Expertise: Applies deep actuarial modeling knowledge to support financial reporting, planning, and business decision-making across life and annuity products.
  • Model Development & Architecture: Leads the enhancement, modernization, and governance of actuarial models and supporting infrastructure.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, and enhance efficiency through automation and tool development.
  • Strategic Problem Solving: Connects technical details to broader business objectives and develops practical solutions to complex actuarial challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Effectively partners with actuarial and business stakeholders and translates technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ownership & Execution Excellence: Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and the ability to independently drive projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

What We Offer:
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership
  • The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build what's next
  • A competitive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; an HSA and 401(k) company match; paid time off; and employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Hybrid work arrangement based in the NYC area; remote work arrangements will be considered
