Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Set Painter to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for painting and finishing props and miniature models used in film and television. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with designers and other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret design specifications and color palettes.
  • Paint and finish set props and miniature models to achieve desired effects.
  • Mix paints and create custom colors as needed.
  • Apply various painting techniques, including airbrushing, hand-painting, and weathering.
  • Ensure high quality and consistency in all painted pieces.
  • Collaborate with production and design teams to meet project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Document work through photography and maintain records of paint formulas.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the painting process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a set painter or prop or model painter or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for color and texture.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
