Job Description:
MassDEP's Enterprise Information Office (EIO) is seeking an intern to collaborate with EIO staff to work on a data analytic and Power BI project for selected MassDEP Bureaus and/or Programs.
Job Duties:
  • Meet with MassDEP staff to better understand their data and visualization needs.
  • Based on the identified requirements from MassDEP staff, assist with creating data models and producing reports/dashboards using Power BI.
  • Assist with necessary data improvements of MassDEP data to support creation of reports/dashboards.
  • Assist with research on how AI may be integrated into MassDEP's current data analysis workflows to better assist staff with their job duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist with User Training for MassDEP staff on identified data analytic areas of interest to MassDEP.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Some knowledge of query writing and basic coding languages.
  • Experience with data analytics software such as Power BI/Power Query.
  • Ability to work independently, and in an organized manner with strong attention to detail.

This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.
