Description

To direct work efforts on the Production Floor at MNA-OH. The Production Supervisor organizes, coordinates, and supervises the Production operation to meet and improve quality and production requirements most efficiently and economically.

Requirements

Essential Duties:

Maintains close communication with the Plant Manager and the production scheduling function to facilitate the efficient utilization of the plant equipment

Ensures that all relevant production data is collected and processed on time

Procures and schedules manpower following MNA- operating procedures, maximum manpower guidelines

Works with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Materials on change requests, ECNs, PPAPs, product launches, and occurrences that may hinder production

Coordinates with the appropriate Leader the proper training of hourly employees in the areas of safety, quality, conduct, and machine operation

Coordinates with Maintenance the preventative maintenance and repair of equipment

Performs employee reviews and recommends wage adjustments. Also administers disciplinary action when appropriate

Coordinates hourly employees to fill the weekend work schedule

Supports the Company's Policies, Procedures, and Mission Statement

Coordinates with the oncoming shift to effect an efficient transition between shifts

Supports employee involvement by holding bi-weekly production meetings

Promotes and encourages participation in the Suggestion Program

Maintains Company facilities, equipment, tools, and gages in appropriate and acceptable condition

Represents the Company to customers, clients, and the public as required

Sets an example of professionalism, fairness, and conduct

Performs special assignments as delegated


Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Production Manager.


Education / Skill / Experience Requirements:

2-year associate degree preferred, and/or technical college classes or equivalent experience. At least 3 years experience in a manufacturing automotive environment. Above average mechanical aptitude and ability/experience to teach and lead others. Able to understand and apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Automotive Quality Requirements. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills required. Consistent employment record to include good attendance. Capable of adapting to a participative work environment.
