Job description

Physical Therapy Assistant

Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Monday - Friday (Day Shift)

Setting: Outpatient

Job Summary:

Delivers high-quality, patient-centered physical therapy treatments under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist to support recovery and enhance mobility. Works with a diverse patient population to relieve pain, restore function, and improve overall quality of life. Actively monitors progress and adapts care within scope to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review patient records, therapy goals, and treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist

  • Assess patient condition including strength, mobility, sensory perception, and functional capacity

  • Administer prescribed physical therapy treatments and monitor patient responses

  • Modify treatments within scope based on patient progress and feedback

  • Document patient treatments, progress, and outcomes in compliance with clinic guidelines

  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to adjust care plans as needed

  • Support clinical training and supervision of students when applicable

  • Assist with clinic operations, including administrative and support tasks

  • Participate in team meetings, in-services, and professional development activities

  • Contribute to marketing and community outreach initiatives as needed

Qualifications, Licensure, Experience:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

  • Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice

  • 1-2 years of experience preferred (new graduates are welcome to apply)

  • Strong understanding of therapy techniques and patient care practices

  • Ability to interpret medical and technical documents

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and documentation systems
