Job description

ABOUT onX

Weโ€™re a team of builders, adventurers, and risk takers using technology to help people confidently explore the outdoors. Driven by our mission to awaken the adventurer inside everyone, we build products that optimize every outdoor experience and inspire confidence to get out and go further.

Weโ€™re a high-growth tech company. The pace is fast, the work takes grit, and ambiguity is part of the job. As the world changes around us, we adapt - continuously evolving how we build, prioritize, and deliver.

Our business moves quickly, and thereโ€™s real opportunity to shape what we build next. Each of our verticals - Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish - is at a different stage of maturity, which means the challenges you encounter and the impact you have will vary depending on where you sit and what the business needs most.

We operate with an experimentation mindset, continually iterating and improving how we solve problems. We expect our people to use the latest tooling, including AI, thoughtfully and responsibly, pairing human judgment with technology to increase quality, speed, and impact.

Our impact comes to life through the products we build, in the stories of our customers, and in our growing commitment to land stewardship and recreational access.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We\'re looking for a Senior Product Manager - Growth & Monetization to own our purchasing experience and monetization mechanics that turn our interested users into paying members.

Beyond the consumer-facing experience, you\'ll also own the monetization capabilities that power it. That means driving the product vision for how we model offers, configure pricing, and build the internal tooling that lets Growth and other teams move faster with less engineering dependency, helping to scale our monetization engine.

This is a high-visibility role at the center of onX\'s subscription business. You\'ll lead a cross-functional pod (Mobile, Web, Backend, QA, Design) and partner closely with Marketing, Data, and vertical teams to drive measurable revenue impact through rigorous experimentation and smart product strategy.

You\'ll report to the Director of Product Management, Growth, and work in a matrixed org across Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish verticals.

WHAT YOU\'LL DO
Essential Job Duties & Functions
  • Own purchase flows and upsell strategy: Define and execute the product vision for how users discover, evaluate, and convert to paid membership across mobile and web, owning and driving new user conversion
  • Lead experimentation: Design and run A/B tests on pricing surfaces, checkout flows, and monetization mechanics; use results to drive roadmap decisions
  • Scale monetization infrastructure: Help scale the purchasing engine (paywall surface areas, in-app purchases, web checkout) to enable faster iteration and reduced time-to-market
  • Drive cross-functional alignment:  Own the pod roadmap and communicate priorities across Engineering, Design, Marketing, and senior leadership
  • Champion customer informed decision making: Synthesize data, user research, and funnel analytics to continuously improve conversion quality and purchase experience
WHAT YOUโ€™LL BRING
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience, with at least four (4) years in product management at a consumer-facing mobile software company
  • Proven experience with subscription monetization: paywalls, pricing surfaces, checkout flows, or in-app purchase
  • Strong experimentation instincts: you\'ve designed and interpreted A/B tests that drove real decisions
  • Fluency with data: you pull your own analysis, spot patterns, and translate metrics into product strategy
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate product workflows: from research and discovery to writing and decision-making,  with evidence of going beyond surface-level use to drive real leverage
  • Clear, concise communicator: written and verbal  with a track record of influencing without authority
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with ambiguity and competing priorities
  • A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onXโ€™s Company Values.
  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
  • Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp.
ADDED BONUSES

Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:

  • Bachelorโ€™s or masterโ€™s degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Previous experience with digital subscriptions, purchasing flows, onboarding experiences, and/or personalization capabilities.
  • Background in onboarding, activation, or freemium conversion
  • Passion for outdoor recreation
THE ONX EXPERIENCE

onX is a distributed company with more than 400 employees across the country. We come together regularly to work in person and stay connected through regional basecamps and a culture that balances individual ownership with deep collaboration.

While we move quickly, weโ€™re not a scrappy start-up. We operate with clear goals, structure, and frameworks that guide how we prioritize and execute. Priorities matter. While they may shift, data shapes how we evolve as our business, products, and the world around us change.

Clear priorities and structure donโ€™t limit ownership - they make it possible. Youโ€™ll have the autonomy to define your work and make meaningful decisions within clear strategic boundaries. Youโ€™ll partner closely with others to solve complex problems and build solutions that scale across teams and platforms. Along the way, youโ€™ll be supported with feedback, tools, and opportunities to grow your craft as you take on new challenges.

WHERE YOU CAN WORK

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce designed to foster connection, collaboration, and shared experience across several US locations. We have two HQ locations in Bozeman and Missoula, MT and established virtual workforce Basecamps in Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.

HOW YOUโ€™LL BE COMPENSATED

The pay range will vary based upon experience, skills, certifications, education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and an annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.

WHAT WEโ€™RE OFFERING YOU
  • Competitive salaries, annual bonuses, equity, and opportunities for growth
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including a no-monthly-cost medical plan
  • Paid parental leave of 13 weeks for birthing parents and 5 weeks for non-birthing parents
  • 401k matching at 100% for the first 3% you save and 50% from 3-5%
  • Company-wide outdoor adventures and amazing outdoor industry perks
  • Annual โ€œGet Out, Get Activeโ€ funds to fuel your active lifestyle
  • Flexible time away package that includes PTO, STO, VTO, and paid holidays
