Job description

Steel Tool & Engineering Co. in Trenton, MI is looking for a full-time Fluorescent Penetrant - Testing Specialist. This is a great chance to join a steady company in the aerospace industry.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Manage the complete FPI procedure, including preparation, penetrant use, dwell time, removal, drying, developing, and final inspection.
  • Review and record all indications, determining part acceptability as per the required standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections and basic measurements with calipers and gauge pins.
  • Ensure all FPI instruments and controls are functioning properly through regular system checks.
  • Ensure safe handling practices and full compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Fluorescent Penetrant - Testing Specialist Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in nondestructive testing (other methods, such as Magnetic Particle, are encouraged to apply too)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
  • Ability to pass near-vision and color-vision exams required for NDT
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred:
  • NDT Level II certification in Penetrant Testing per NAS-410 or ASNT (or equivalent documented training or experience)
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and industry regulations

FLUORESCENT PENETRANT - TESTING SPECIALIST: COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
  • Pay: 19.25-22.00+ an hour based on experience
  • Schedule: This is a full-time job, working from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm at our Trenton, MI location.
