Job description

Keep the Fleet Running. Keep the Business Moving.

At Crete Solutions, our trucks are the backbone of our operation. Every load delivered, every customer served, and every project completed starts with a safe, reliable fleet.

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to support our growing operations in Charlotte. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of ready-mix concrete trucks, dump trucks, trailers, mobile construction equipment, and plant support equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

If you're a hands-on problem solver who enjoys diagnosing complex issues, working independently, and seeing the direct impact of your work every day, we'd like to talk with you.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and repair ready-mix concrete trucks, dump trucks, pneumatic tankers, trailers, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other mobile equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and construction equipment
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems
  • Repair and replace engines, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulic components, and electrical systems
  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential failures before they result in downtime
  • Assist with emergency breakdowns in the field when necessary
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed
  • Maintain accurate repair records and work orders
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to maximize fleet availability and productivity

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of diesel, heavy truck, or heavy equipment/mobile repair experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and air brake systems
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on ready-mix concrete trucks
  • CDL Class A or B (or willingness to obtain)
  • Diesel Technician Certification
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Familiarity with Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Allison, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with fleet maintenance software and electronic diagnostics

Why Join Crete Solutions?

Our maintenance team supports a diverse fleet of trucks and equipment, meaning no two days are exactly alike. You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from ready-mix mixers and dump trucks to loaders, forklifts, and other mobile construction equipment while helping support one of the fastest-growing concrete companies in the Carolinas.

We offer:

Competitive hourly pay based on experience
Modern fleet and equipment
Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
401(k) with Company Match
Paid Time Off
Company-provided uniforms
The Ideal Candidate

You're the mechanic everyone calls when nobody else can figure it out.

You take pride in finding the root cause, not just the symptom. You value quality workmanship, understand the importance of preventative maintenance, and know that keeping equipment running safely and efficiently impacts every part of the business.

Whether you're diagnosing an electrical issue, rebuilding a hydraulic component, or performing a routine inspection, you approach every job with professionalism and a commitment to excellence.

Join Crete Solutions and help keep the Carolinas moving, one truck at a time!
