💼 Position Overview

Title: Interventional Cardiologist - Structural Heart

Location: Touro Hospital, New Orleans, LA
Employment Type: Full-time, hospital-employed
Specialty: Interventional Cardiology with Structural Heart Expertise

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional proceduresincluding angioplasty, stenting, and coronary diagnostics
  • Interpret diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and angiograms
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary heart team, including cardiac surgery, imaging, and advanced heart failure
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiac care and consultations
  • Participate in STEMI call (1:3 coverage and about 50 per year)and ensure rapid response for emergent cases
  • Maintain thorough documentation and uphold clinical quality standards
  • (Preferred not required) Participate in structural heart interventions, including TAVR, PFO/ASD closure, TEER, Watchman and other emerging therapies

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree; completion of U.S.-based internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology, including Structural Heart procedures
  • Board Certificationin Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology
  • Eligible for unrestricted Louisiana medical license
  • American Heart Association, Basic Life Support-HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification.
  • Demonstrated procedural proficiency and strong clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient engagement abilities
