Job description

Osmose Utilities is seeking a GIS Developer to design, build, and support advanced geospatial applications that enable data-driven decision-making across utility infrastructure, vegetation management, asset management, and operational planning programs. This role bridges software engineering and geographic science, delivering scalable GIS solution. It is ideal candidates are located in the Atlanta, GA area for this in-office position.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom GIS web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Build interactive mapping solutions using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, Leaflet, or similar frameworks.
  • Develop automation scripts (Python/ArcPy) for geoprocessing, validation, and data transformation.
  • Design and maintain enterprise spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Integrate GIS platforms with enterprise systems such as asset management, ERP, cloud, and CRM platforms.
  • Develop and consume REST APIs for system integration and workflow automation.
  • Implement advanced spatial analysis to support planning and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with GIS analysts, engineers, and IT partners to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements:
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-6+ years of professional GIS development experience.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS platforms and/or QGIS.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Experience with REST APIs and modern web technologies.
