Job Summary: A Welder is responsible for joining, cutting, and shaping metal parts and structures using various welding techniques. They play an important part of manufacturing and repairing our fire & life safety systems. Installation of fire suppression system components as per the engineered drawings, including FM-200 and other clean agents, Fixed CO2 and Halon Systems, Galley Suppression Systems without constant supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate welding equipment and machinery, such as arc welders, MIG welders, TIG welders to fuse metal components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand the welding specifications and join metal components accurately.
  • Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing to verify the quality of welds.
  • Correct any defects or imperfections in the welds, if necessary
  • Work in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead, as required by project.
  • Work closely with project managers and other teams to ensure the proper alignment and assembly of the fire and life safety system.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
  • Identify and trouble shoot issues related to welding.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:
Education, Licensure & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Welding certification

Experience:
  • FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) experience is a plus.
  • GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) experience is a plus
  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) experience is a plus
  • GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) experience is a plus
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in at least one of the above welding applications.

Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities:
  • Must be able to pass a welding exam.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Basic math skills for measuring, calculating, and layout tasks

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
