Role Overview

·       Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) is seeking a Senior Front-End / Mobile Developer with deep expertise in React Native and ReactJS to join a high-performing product delivery team. This role is responsible for building and evolving scalable, high-quality web and mobile applications in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

·       The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on engineering skills, practical architecture experience, and a quality-first mindset. You will partner closely with product, UX/UI, QA, and backend engineering teams to deliver reliable, performant, and accessible experiences across platforms.

·       A high level of experience and excellence is required regardless of location. Bonus (not required): familiarity with C#/.NET.

*Reputable companies a STRONG plus* - last win was a candidate from Mckesson

Key Responsibilities

·       Design, build, and maintain high-quality web and mobile applications using React Native and ReactJS.

·       Own end-to-end delivery of complex UI features with a strong focus on performance, reliability, usability, and accessibility.

·       Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable application architecture across mobile and web, translating business and user needs into technical designs and implementation plans.

·       Write clean, well-structured, and well-documented code; establish and uphold engineering best practices.

·       Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring consistency, maintainability, and adherence to standards.

·       Partner with backend engineers to define API contracts, data models, integration strategies, and error-handling patterns.

·       Optimize React Native applications for iOS and Android (e.g., offline storage, threading considerations, memory/performance tuning, startup time).

·       Coordinate releases and technical dependencies with other squads; proactively manage timelines and expectations.

·       Collaborate daily with Product, UX/UI, QA, and engineering stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.

·       Mentor and support other developers through pairing, feedback, and technical guidance.

Required Qualifications

·       5+ years of professional experience in web and/or mobile application development.

·       3+ years of hands-on experience building production applications with React Native and ReactJS.

·       Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, modern React patterns (hooks, context, component composition), and state management.

·       Experience building applications that consume RESTful JSON APIs (authentication, pagination, error handling, retries, and caching patterns).

·       Demonstrated ability to deliver within distributed teams and communicate clearly across time zones.

·       Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the UI stack (networking, state, rendering performance, device/platform issues).

·       Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD collaboration (branching, pull requests, reviews, release coordination).

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

·       Bonus: Exposure to C#/.NET (reading/debugging services, collaborating on API contracts, or building small utilities).

·       Experience with component libraries/design systems and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).

·       Experience with micro-frontend patterns (MFE), monorepos, or shared UI platform initiatives.

·       Experience with testing frameworks (unit/integration/e2e) and automation (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Detox).

·       Experience with GraphQL in addition to REST.

·       Experience with performance monitoring and instrumentation (logging, analytics, crash reporting).

·       Healthcare domain experience (Epic/EHR exposure) is a plus.

·       Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly (code suggestions, test generation, refactoring
