The Position: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Senior Project Manager to lead grocery, retail, and commercial rollout projects from concept through completion. This is an outstanding opportunity for an architect or project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple client programs, and excels at balancing design excellence with schedule, budget, and project execution. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for clients while leading multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead grocery, retail, and commercial architecture projects from programming through construction completion.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and overall project execution.
  • Serve as the primary client contact while developing strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Coordinate internal architectural teams and outside consultants throughout each project phase.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal leadership.
  • Oversee production of construction documents utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation for quality and accuracy.
  • Support construction administration, including site visits and coordination with contractors during construction.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor project financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
  • Mentor junior staff while supporting team development and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with leadership on client growth opportunities and repeat business initiatives.


Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of architectural project management experience.
  • Strong experience managing grocery, retail, commercial, tenant improvement, or rollout projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, project scheduling, consultant coordination, and construction administration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred

  • Licensed Architect preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing national rollout or prototype programs.
  • Experience working with grocery operators, retail developers, or national commercial brands.
  • Knowledge of California building codes and permitting processes.
  • Experience mentoring project teams and supporting business development initiatives.
