As our Mobile Health Unit Driver, you'll do more than transport a vehicleyou'll help deliver care where it's needed most and play an essential role in expanding access to healthcare Work Life Balance NO WEEKENDS!. Pay Range - $25/h NO RECRUITERS!!!!!!!!!. Definition The Mobile Health Unit Driver is responsible for the safe operation, transportation, and support of HealthWorks' mobile health units, which are equipped to provide medical, dental, and behavioral health services throughout the community. In addition to ensuring the safe and timely transport, set up, and breakdown of the mobile units at designated service locations, the Driver provides professional support to healthcare staff by assisting with non-clinical and operational activities that contribute to efficient patient care and clinic operations.

The Mobile Health Unit Driver is committed to the continuous pursuit of organizational excellence and improving the health of the communities we serve. This individual must demonstrate exceptional professionalism, sound judgment, compassion, and a proactive approach to supporting patients and staff. The Driver is expected to exemplify HealthWorks' mission, vision, and core values while exercising the highest level of discretion, diplomacy, and tact in all interactions with patients, community partners, and colleagues.

Roles & Responsibilities Safely operate and transport the Mobile Health Unit to and from designated service locations in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the mobile health unit, documenting and promptly reporting any mechanical, safety, or operational issues, including concerns related to the vehicle, generator, brakes, steering, or other equipment. Plan and evaluate travel routes in advance to ensure the safe operation of the mobile health unit by identifying and avoiding roads with low bridge clearances, weight restrictions, narrow roadways, hazardous conditions, construction zones, or other obstacles that could impact the safe and timely transport of the vehicle to and from service locations.

Ensure the mobile health unit is fueled, maintain responsibility for the fuel card, and accurately record vehicle mileage and other required transportation logs. Assist with the setup, breakdown, and securing of the mobile health unit at each service location, including loading and unloading supplies, setting up tents, tables, chairs, signage, and other equipment necessary for clinic operations. Properly secure the mobile health unit and all equipment at the conclusion of each clinic day.

Support the clinical team with non-licensed patient care and operational duties, including preparing patients for examinations, obtaining and documenting vital signs (if appropriately trained), assisting providers during patient visits, completing required documentation, maintaining exam room readiness, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the mobile unit. Monitor and maintain clinical inventory, ensuring supplies are stocked, organized, and available for patient care. Safely assist patients with boarding and exiting the mobile health unit when needed and inspect the vehicle after each clinic session to ensure no patient belongings have been left behind.

Escort students from the school to the mobile unit safely after signing them out and return them to the school safely after completing their visit. When the mobile health unit is not in operation, the Driver will provide assistance to the mobile health staff at one of the clinical sites. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the effective operation of the Mobile Health Program and HealthWorks for Northern Virginia.
