What You'll Do
We're looking for a senior Tools Programmer to help build the next generation of UI tooling for users and AI-powered agentic workflows (tools that let AI agents assist with and automate UI creation, iteration, and debugging). You'll shape the systems and frameworks that millions of creators rely on, from WYSIWYG editors to the APIs and runtime UI capabilities used to ship games and tools.
In this role, you will
  • Design, build, and integrate AI-powered tools and frameworks for UI authoring, iteration, and debugging
  • Own and evolve the UI tech codebase used to build tools and in-game UI in Unreal Engine
  • Set technical direction for UI tooling and mentor other engineers
  • Collaborate across disciplines to identify improvement areas, gather feedback, and design solutions for developer needs
  • Profile and resolve performance and memory issues in UI systems
  • Work with Epic's internal teams and Unreal Engine licensees to help them solve UI challenges
What we're looking for
  • Strong tools-programming background with experience building tools that improve development workflows in games or other fields
  • Deep expertise in the UI domain (UI frameworks, runtime UI engines, and editor/WYSIWYG tooling)
  • Excellent C++ skills and experience working in a large codebase
  • Some hands-on exposure to AI-powered or agentic workflows, whether through work, courses, or personal projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with Unreal Engine is a plus
  • Experience with Slate and/or UMG is a plus
  • Shipped title experience in games or real-time applications is a plus
