Job description

Words have the power to move people forward. We're looking for a Writer who knows how to create content that connects with real people - content that's clear, engaging, and genuinely useful. At Ascendium Education Solutions, you'll help learners build confidence and achieve their goals in school and life. Working in a team that designs and creates digital learning experiences, you'll create lessons, emails, product copy, and resources that resonate with diverse audiences. Please include a cover letter and writing sample with your application.
Job Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis, you may do the following.

  • Write in a warm, approachable voice, adjusting tone by topic, and follow brand voice and tone guidelines.
  • Produce clear, concise, mobile-friendly content adhering to formatting, reading-level, and UI standards.
  • Ensure lessons support learning goals and fit within the broader curriculum, maintaining continuity across content.
  • Follow the full content creation and review process, collaborating with the content strategist, learning experience designer, product management team, and other stakeholders and prepare final publication-ready copy.
  • Support CMS implementation by preparing copy for upload, formatting interactive lesson components, and reviewing content rendering for accuracy and user flow.

A highly qualified candidate will possess the following.
  • Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, communications, English, social sciences or similar field. Professional skill and closely related work experience may be considered in lieu of education credentials.

  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to transform complex academic, financial, and life topics into clear, approachable, and engaging content for a broad audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to write in a natural, conversational voice for college-age and young adult audiences, with writing samples that showcase audience awareness and strong storytelling.
  • Experience creating concise, mobile-friendly content, including lessons, emails, notifications, or other short-form digital experiences.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to adapt tone, structure, and messaging to different audiences, formats, and communication goals.
  • Ability to incorporate stakeholder feedback, learner insights, and collaboration to create high-quality content.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to refine messaging and continuously improve the learner experience.
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit communications, education finance, or government is a plus.
