Position Summary:


We are seeking an experienced Mobile Manufacturer Fiberglass Technician to perform on-site fiberglass repairs, structural modifications, gelcoat restoration, and cosmetic finishing for customer vessels and manufacturer warranty support. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, customer satisfaction, and supporting overall manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Perform mobile fiberglass repairs and warranty service on customer vessels in field environments.
  • Diagnose fiberglass defects, structural damage, cosmetic issues, and finish inconsistencies.
  • Complete high-quality fiberglass repairs including lamination, structural reinforcement, gelcoat repair, sanding, polishing, and finish work.
  • Perform structural modifications and custom fiberglass fabrication as required.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, dealers, and internal departments during service visits.
  • Document repairs, warranty findings, and completed work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer quality and appearance standards.


Production & Prototype Support:


  • Assist the production fiberglass department between mobile service calls as needed.
  • Support prototype and new model development through fabrication, fit and finish work, and process support.
  • Assist with mold preparation, lamination, assembly, and fiberglass production operations.
  • Participate in quality control efforts to maintain consistency and workmanship standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, service, and quality teams.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Experience in fiberglass repair, gelcoat finishing, and marine manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of fiberglass lamination, structural repair techniques, and cosmetic finishing processes.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair fiberglass defects in both production and field settings.
  • Skilled in sanding, buffing, polishing, color matching, and finish restoration.
  • Ability to work independently in mobile service environments while maintaining productivity and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Adaptable team player capable of transitioning between field service and manufacturing operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Marine industry experience preferred but not required.
