Mobile Battery Storage information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in Mobile Battery Storage roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Mobile Battery Storage often encounter challenges such as ensuring the safe transportation and deployment of battery units, maintaining compliance with evolving safety and environmental regulations, and troubleshooting technical issues in the field. These challenges can be addressed by staying updated with industry standards, participating in regular safety training, and collaborating closely with both engineering and logistics teams. Additionally, developing strong problem-solving skills and keeping detailed maintenance records can help anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.

What is mobile battery storage?

Mobile battery storage refers to portable energy storage systems that use rechargeable batteries to store and supply electricity when and where it’s needed. These units are often used in situations where grid power is unavailable, unreliable, or for temporary events such as festivals, construction sites, or emergency backup. Mobile battery storage systems can help reduce reliance on diesel generators, lower emissions, and provide flexible, clean power solutions. They come in various sizes and capacities, making them suitable for both small-scale and large-scale applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mobile Battery Storage Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mobile Battery Storage Technician, you need a strong understanding of electrical systems, battery technologies, and safety protocols, often supported by a relevant technical diploma or certification in electrical engineering or renewable energy. Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS), diagnostic tools, and compliance with industry standards such as OSHA or NFPA is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are vital soft skills for diagnosing issues and collaborating with teams or clients. These competencies ensure safe installation, maintenance, and operation of mobile battery storage units, supporting energy reliability and customer satisfaction.

What is the difference between Mobile Battery Storage vs Solar Battery Technician?

AspectMobile Battery StorageSolar Battery Technician

About the Role
Canary Technologies is hiring a Mobile Product Lead to own and scale its native mobile portfolio, including the guest app, hotel staff app, and developer SDKs. In this role, you'll drive the evolution of these products, expanding the capabilities that deliver measurable business impact. Listening closely to our customers, you'll concept and build new native app offerings from 0 - 1 that solve real customer problems, cementing Canary's leadership in this space.
You'll partner closely with Design and Engineering teams to ship best-in-class iOS and Android experiences, enhance SDK developer experience through strong documentation and tooling, and ensure mobile remains a strategic growth lever for the company. This role owns outcomes that matter for both hotel staff and guests, balancing intuitive UX with performance and real-world platform constraints.
Responsibilities
  • Own and define the product strategy and roadmap with a clear multi-quarter roadmap
  • Build new native products 0 - 1 to capture that solve real customer problems and generate new revenue for the business
  • Interface with Enterprise customer leadership teams, ensuring our products fully support their needs and position Canary as a critical and valuable partner for their business
  • Evolve our SDKs to be even easier to adopt, well-documented, versioned, and observable for reliability
  • Partner with Design and Eng to establish mobile UI patterns, accessibility standards, and performance budgets (startup time, bundle size, battery/CPU)
  • Set quality bars for mobile releases including telemetry, alerting, and crash-free thresholds; partner with QA to scale automated test coverage
  • Collaborate with other Canary product teams teams to unlock mobile-first experiences powered by Canary's core services
  • Drive rollout plans, experimentation, and measurement to improve activation, engagement, retention, and app store ratings
  • Champion security, privacy, and compliance across mobile (PII handling, PCI concerns, secure storage, secrets, and transport)
  • Maintain a well structured backlog, lead all team ceremonies, and ensure successful and on time execution and delivery

Qualifications
  • 7+ years in Product Management with 3+ years working on native mobile apps and/or SDKs
  • Proven track record of launching and managing high-quality iOS and/or Android features end-to-end with measurable impact
  • Lead development of mobile SDKs/frameworks with clear API contracts, strong documentation, and scalable versioning; define instrumentation, KPIs, and deprecation strategies to drive adoption and stability
  • Drive high-quality mobile experiences across Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack, optimizing for performance, accessibility, offline-first design, and platform constraints
  • Lead cross-functional execution in ambiguous environments, partnering with engineering, design, and GTM; translate customer insights (hotel staff workflows and guest journeys) into impactful mobile-first solutions
  • Track record improving App Store and Play Store ratings and review response programs
  • Background in payments and secure mobile data handling (PCI considerations)
  • Experience in hospitality, travel, or other two-sided marketplaces is a plus

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $205,000. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus paid quarterly, with a target of $16,000 - $35,000 annually. This brings the total expected cash compensation range to $190,000 - $240,000
Compensation is subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. Actual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's skill level, experience, and specific work location. This role may also include the opportunity to earn equity.
We also work hard to ensure Canary is a fun and exciting place to work! Here are some of the additional benefits:
Canary Days: As a company we want to ensure that the team has time to recharge. Each month we provide company wide days off to ensure there is at least one extended weekend or day off.
