Maintenance Controller
Flight Test | Aircraft Maintenance
Seattle, WA

We are hiring a Maintenance Controller to support flight test operations, aircraft maintenance, logistics, and technical coordination within a high-tempo Test Operations Center (TOC). This role supports flight test aircraft and maintenance operations by providing technical assistance, researching operational issues, developing aircraft maintenance estimates, coordinating logistics, tracking test aircraft, and communicating maintenance status and recommendations to engineering, flight operations, management, and support organizations.
The Maintenance Controller will work closely with test operations crews, aircraft maintenance teams, flight operations, MMO, engineering, and other support organizations to help ensure safe and efficient flight test activities. This position requires aircraft maintenance and flight line experience and the ability to work a non-standard schedule
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for aircraft maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities to support continued safe and efficient operations.
  • Apply aircraft maintenance and technical knowledge to research, develop, test, and evaluate operations, support programs, modifications, repairs, and technical data.
  • Coordinate design and operational issues with Engineering and other technical organizations.
  • Develop in-service correspondence supporting the continued safe operation and maintenance of aircraft and equipment.
  • Support accident investigation teams and related technical investigations as required.
  • Investigate and research logistics issues, flight test status, operational problems, weather conditions, and IT issues to drive timely resolution.
  • Develop accurate aircraft maintenance estimates for Flight Test FC and other maintenance activities, including work order descriptions, required parts, special tools, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Maintain the TOC database and create Service Request Task Items.
  • Track test aircraft in flight and identify operational or maintenance issues requiring management escalation.
  • Create and update PowerPoint presentations with operational and maintenance status information.
  • Present data, recommendations, and aircraft status updates during management meetings.
  • Provide clear recommendations to management in a dynamic flight test and aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Coordinate logistics support for flight test activities and remote aircraft operations.
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of education and/or experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • 1+ years of flight line experience.
  • Experience supporting customer and/or external stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with direct, face-to-face customer interactions.
  • Experience interpreting operational or technical data and presenting analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Experience creating, editing, and presenting Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and associated data.
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of flight test experience.
  • Experience with the DWR system.
  • Experience with Engineering Furnished and Red Label parts.
  • Experience organizing and planning logistics support for remote aircraft operations.
  • Current or previous Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Advanced education, such as an Associate degree, with typically 3+ years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a bachelor's degree plus 1+ year of related experience or 5+ years of related work experience.
