Job description

Position: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Specialty: Blood Bank

Shift: Night – 5 x 8

Pay Rate: $48/hr - $51/hr

Location: Springfield, MA 01199

Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Potential Extension to 26 Weeks)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with strong Blood Bank experience to join a dynamic laboratory team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while supporting critical patient care services.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
  • Current MLS/MT or MLT certification (ASCP)
  • 2 years experience required
  • Recent Blood Bank experience required
  • Strong knowledge of blood banking procedures and transfusion services


Responsibilities

  • Perform blood bank testing and transfusion-related procedures
  • Conduct compatibility testing, crossmatching, and antibody identification
  • Process and prepare blood products for transfusion
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and regulations
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
