Location: Rose Creek Elementary
Teach orchestra instruments from beginner level up to intermediate. This includes teaching students how to play the instrument and how to read notes. Orchestra instruments include violin, viola, string bass, and percussion. The orchestra students meet before school for 45 minutes. Concerts are held at least twice each year (Holiday and Spring) with an accompanying assembly for the host school with additional assemblies at other schools if that school has a significant percent of orchestra participation or if the school desires it for orchestra recruiting purposes. There may be other concerts as well (e.g. hosted by the middle school for recruiting or combined with other elementary school orchestras in the district) throughout the year. The concerts are planned and carried out by the orchestra teacher in cooperation with any other teachers (band, orchestra, choir, etc.) who may be involved.
